Kilimanjaro anti cervical cancer project registers succes

A pilot project on Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccination introduced to girl’s pupils to prevent cervical cancer in Kilimanjaro Region has registered a remarkable success by 93 percent.
 
The government through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and other health stakeholders introduced HPV vaccine to girls aged 9 to 14 to prevent them from cervical cancer, a campaign launched by First Lady Salma Kikwete in April 2014.
 
An official from the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare Dr Neema Nsibaliwa said recently Kilimanjaro region was selected to be a pilot project to implement the HPV.See More
