Bad weather forecasted for national weather agency as authorities lament its 528m/- annual lease contract

The Tanzania Meteorological Agency (TMA) is said to occasion the government loses of up to 528m/- in a rental charges for its head office at the Ubungo Plaza in Dar es Salaam.

 

Speaking during a tour of the TMA offices yesterday in the city, officials of the Parliamentary Committee on Infrastructure led by Deputy Chairman Prof Juma Kapuya, noted that since the agency started renting the space eleven years ago, up to 5.8 bn/- has been lost in rent.

 

He cited that the space is leased at a rate of 43m/- per month and an annual rent of Sh528 million.Click here
