NINETY per cent of the Dar es Salaam
residents will access clean and safe water before the end of this year,
following the completion of a number of water projects aimed at
increasing the water supply from 450 million litres to 710 million
litres per day.
Addressing a special function on the
occasion of the National Water Week in Dar es Salaam, the Dar es Salaam
Regional Commissioner (RC), Saidi Mecky Sadiki, said only 68 per cent of
the city residents currently access the service.
“The goal is to enable 3.8 million city
residents, which is equivalent to 90 per cent, access clean and safe
water before the end of this year,” said the RC.See More
